News and Events

Lots of exciting things going on at Night Rail Press, folks. “The Headless Angel,” Issue #2 of The Devil’s Own, is nearing completion at an alarming rate. Pete Mesling’s script is pretty well polished to a shine, and Brian Beardsley is knee deep in resizing the pages and preparing them for a bit of spot coloring. Then the whole shebang goes to Brian Meredith, who will tackle the lettering for this issue.

All indications are good that we’ll be ready to roll for the Jet City Comic Show on September 25. Mesling, unfortunately, will be unable to attend the event, but Beardsley will be there with bells on—perhaps literally; it’s hard to tell with him.

In the slightly longer term, be on the lookout for some nifty changes to our homepage. I don’t want to reveal too much just now, but it should be snazzy.

Now it’s off to be interviewed by Decapitated Dan Royer for a rather special comics podcast. More on that very soon, friends of the night.

Be sure to check out both Seattle Geekly podcasts featuring the Devil’s Own comic book series. Coverage in episode #14 begins at about 26:30, and even more detail can be savored in the Show Notes for that episode. Coverage in episode #55 begins at about 49:00.

The hardworking folks manning the dials over at the Tales from the Parents Basement podcast also have some very kind words for Night Rail Press. Do have a listen at the 6:00 mark of episode #54b.

And while you’re at it, why not have a look at the latest review, courtesy of Decapitated Dan!

The 8th annual Emerald City ComiCon has come and gone, but the remains remain! Photos are sure to follow shortly, but for now, know that Night Rail Press will be featured once again on Seattle Geekly’s podcast very soon, and this time you’ll actually hear Pete Mesling and Brian Beardsley speak!

All this and much, much more just ahead. Until next time, be dutiful and eschew all umbrage.
